Air Freight

Daily air cargo handling at Larnaca and Paphos airports.

Tsaggaris Bros Clearing Ltd handles air freight through Larnaca and Paphos airports, with our own personnel present at both daily. Air shipments are usually cleared within 24 hours of arrival in Cyprus.

Air cargo met by our own people, not a subcontractor

Air freight is usually chosen because time matters, so the handling on the ground has to keep pace with the flight. Our own personnel are at Larnaca and Paphos airports every day as part of the normal routine, which means an arriving shipment is attended to when it lands — not when someone can next be sent out to the airport. For exports the same team books the cargo onto the flight, prepares the export documentation and sees the goods away.

Wherever possible the paperwork is finished before the flight is. Send us the air waybill, the commercial invoice and the packing list while the shipment is still in the air — or before it departs — and we prepare the customs declaration so the file is ready on landing. From there, air shipments are usually cleared within 24 hours of arrival in Cyprus, and we keep you informed from touchdown to release — you are told when the goods land, when they clear and when they are ready to move. If a document is missing, we tell you before it becomes a delay rather than after.

We have worked this way since the company was formed in 1988 by brothers Nikos and Yiannakis Tsaggaris, licensed for customs clearance from that year on. The operation is coordinated from our head office in Larnaca, and once the goods are released the same firm arranges the onward delivery to your premises — one contact from the aircraft to your door, whichever of the two airports the shipment moves through.

Our Services Include

Why fly with Tsaggaris Bros

Every air shipment we handle includes the customs clearing on arrival, carried out by our own airport teams rather than a third party. And because air cargo is often valuable for its size, we can arrange cargo insurance alongside the booking, so the goods and their cover are handled by the same people from the moment the shipment is confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast is air freight cleared in Cyprus?

Air shipments are usually cleared within 24 hours of arrival in Cyprus, provided the documents are complete. Our own personnel are at Larnaca and Paphos airports every day, so the customs work generally begins when the aircraft lands rather than when an agent can next visit the airport.

Which airports do you operate at?

We operate at Larnaca and Paphos airports, with our own teams present at both daily — for imports arriving by air and exports leaving Cyprus. The work is coordinated from our head office in Larnaca, so one contact covers your shipment whichever airport it moves through.

What paperwork does an air freight shipment need?

As general information, an air shipment usually travels with its air waybill, a commercial invoice and a packing list, and some goods need additional certificates or permits. We prepare the customs declaration from these documents — send them to us before the flight arrives and the file is ready on landing.

Can urgent shipments be prioritised?

Tell us a shipment is urgent when you book it and we prepare everything we can before the aircraft lands — documents checked, declaration drafted, our airport team briefed. Clearance times still depend on customs, so we cannot promise a fixed hour, but urgent cargo gets our attention first.
